That way, they can finally strip this worm of all his committee posts without fear of reprisal. For years, he's been the GOP's pet Democrat that they trot out to claim "bipartisan support" for whatever egregious war-related abuse they want to perpetrate on the American people.
After Connecticut Dems dumped Joe for Ned Lamont in the last election, the Republicans threw their own candidate under the bus so they could keep their fig leaf/lapdog. A few more seats, and then they can have him, outright.
